Dartmoor Wildcamp

When I unexpectedly made the pleasant connection that my good friends Charlie (Moorswood) and Andy (Topcon/DCW) were at university together, a plan was hatched for a microadventure.

The two years of pandemic lockdowns were nothing compared to the 27 years that Andy and Charlie last saw each other. After the customary dithering, we found ourselves parked at the end of a lane in Belstone on the northern edge of the Dartmoor National Park.

Realising Andy and I forgot to eat during the day and had no food, we decided to stock up with burgers and a couple of pints at a The Tors pub in the village. We set off on the Tarka Trail and onto the moor as a magificent sunset lit cast a golden glow on the gorse and granite hilltops.
